Vermont referrals

Vermont hospitality-worker resources

Working in hospitality can bring real pressure, and reaching out is one practical next step. This directory gathers Vermont referrals for crisis support, local care, peer connection, food benefits, workplace resources, and hospitality education.

Serving Up Support is based in Maine. These independently curated referrals are information only, not care delivered by us. Listing a provider does not imply partnership or endorsement, and we do not operate services in Vermont.

Routine navigation

Vermont 211

Looking for a next step with food, housing, transportation, or another local service? Vermont 211 offers a searchable community-resource directory and general information and referral by phone. Call 2-1-1 or search online.

211 is not emergency response, clinical care, or a guarantee of eligibility, placement, or a particular service. Housing programs have separate eligibility and contact rules; confirm details directly with the relevant state program or provider.

Ongoing treatment access

Vermont Designated Agencies

Vermont’s 10 regional Designated Agencies provide care for people affected by mental-health conditions, substance-use disorders, and developmental disabilities. Services may include outpatient or residential mental-health care, case management, and substance-use treatment.

Each agency serves a specific region. Use the state directory and agency map to find the contact for your area, then ask about services, intake, cost, insurance, eligibility, hours, and current availability. These are local care routes, not a substitute for 911 or 988 in a crisis.

These are peer/community resources, not treatment or crisis response.

Employer-facing program

Vermont Recovery Friendly Workplaces

Vermont hospitality employers can explore VAMHAR’s Recovery Friendly Workplace program for guidance on building a workplace culture that supports recovery. The program is employer-facing; workers seeking personal support can use the care and peer resources above.

VAMHAR currently states that its certification process, resources, and assistance have no cost to employers. Confirm current terms and the process directly with VAMHAR; certification timing varies and is not guaranteed.

Career education

UVM Hospitality Management Professional Certificate

UVM currently lists an online, asynchronous 16-week certificate beginning February 8, 2027, with tuition of $2,900 and an estimated 7–10 hours of study per week. The page describes an optional paid internship in Vermont; placement is not guaranteed. UVM says applicants must reside in the U.S. and be able to complete the internship in Vermont.

This is paid career education, not a mental-health service or benefit. Course dates, cost, eligibility, and internship availability can change; confirm the current details with UVM before enrolling.
